Now imagine a very windy and gusty day. It’s spring, it’s March and the winds will build and blow until June in New Mexico. The Sunbrella fabric we use at Santa Fe Awning has a 10 year warranty against fading, tears and wear. The thread is Kevlar and will outlast the fabric. The awning fittings are the best and have been tested in New Mexico’s erratic winds and weather for more than 30 years, including that constant dull wind vibration which is so specific to our state. Our products are tough and built to last. However, when strong and/or gusty winds are predicted, we recommend that you roll in the retractable awnings. There is no need to put undue pressure on the fittings, and it will extend the life of your shade product, likely well past the warranty.
